Fracture / Vessel

2017
Glassblowing, cold working
Ø16 × H22 cm
Unique work

Fracture / Vessel began as a blown glass form that was cut and polished through cold working. During reheating, thermal shock caused unexpected cracks to appear in the glass.

Rather than treating the fractures as a failure, they became part of the work. The cracks were transformed into visible “stitches,” turning an accidental break into a deliberate element of the finished vessel. The work preserves the trace of what went wrong, allowing damage and repair to become part of the object’s identity.
